 The Holidays are upon us once again and many have always enjoyed the ol' wives tale I've shared with everyone each year, so without further adieu, Merry Christmas everyone! A Christmas FragQUOTE 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the map,
Not a creature was stirring, no one trying to cap.
The pipebombs were laid in the flagroom with care,
In hopes that some newbie would soon appear there.
Our sniper was hiding with his dot charged bright red,
While visions of headshots danced in his head.
And Dox in his armor, and I with my gun,
Had just settled down for a few rounds of fun.
When out on the bridge there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my basement to see what was the matter.
Away to the battlements I flew like a flash,
Spilled my Crown Royal, and choked on my hash.
The moon on the breast of the newly-shed blood,
Made it hard to make out my score on the HUD.
When, what to my wondering eyes should pop out,
But an HW Guy, and eight tiny scouts.
The dude was a newbie, that was quite plain to see,
As he spammed the whole bridge with his MIRVs and AC.
More rapid than eagles his cappers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Caspar! now, Nae'Blis! now, NurseMan and Star!
On, Bubba! on Bee! Sub with a crowbar!
To the far side of the bridge! To the top of the wall!
Now cap away! Cap away! Cap away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet our SG's, stacked double high.
So up to the fort-top the cappers they flew,
With their packs full of medkits, and the HW Guy too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard in the night,
The screams and explosions of a huge firefight.
As I slapped in a clip, and was turning around,
Down the elevator the fatty he came with a bound.
He was dressed all in blue, from his toes to his head,
And his clothes were all tarnished with the blood of the dead.
A bundle of weapons he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a madman stone wasted on crack.
His eyes -- how they glared! His dimples how fat!
His cheeks were like eight balls, his nose like a bat!
His droll little mouth was drawn up in a scowl,
and he must have had Mexican, 'cuz his ass smelled quite foul.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And he scanned for the flag like a backstabbing thief.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he fired like a tub full of jelly.
He had two rounds in his legs, a gift from the snipes,
And I laughed when I saw him, as I det'd the pipes;
A wink of his eye and a bright flash of red,
Dox finished him off with two rounds to the head.
The room was quite silent as he fell to the floor,
His blood a red pool; all the gibs and the gore.
And moving his finger, he spoke not a word,
His last, desparate act was to flip me the bird.
His scouts they all fled, having lost their big gun,
Dox gave them all chase, shouting "Run, bitches. Run!"
Then I heard him exclaim, as he ran out of sight,
"Merry Christmas To All, And To All A Good-Night!"

It's been 10+ years now and botwars are still going strong on our Team Fortress Classic server. One World On-line first introduced 8 bots to attract players to come and play till the server filled. Whoda thunk it would have become a hobby for the masses?!  You guessed it... Our Team Fortress Classic fans will soon be automajically re-directed to the new servers. However, our Counter Strike Source and Team fortress 2 fans will have to find us by name as I don't have the convenient luxury of re-directing them. This migration will soon be in effect and certainly ready for the major < Team Fortress 2 Heavy Update > followed by the "Free For All Weekend" planned beginning August 22 at 11 am PDT. C|L

Back in Feb of 07 we took leap forward as we jumped from a Pentium Series Processor into our first Dual Core. Last month I stumbled across a few promotions which I couldn't resist, this lead to negotiations which landed us in allot more power then I could have ever imagined. A few of us have already tested them and from what we've seen the performance is notably better! Not only are we advancing ahead in hardware, we are also moving into a new Data Center which has just undergone an upgrade! Data Center Bulletin: Network Upgrade Scheduled for Sunday, August 3, 2008 QUOTE Over the past few months, The Planet's network and technology teams have been working to upgrade all of our data centers and network connections to consolidate our network footprint into a single autonomous system (AS). To facilitate this project, we have increased the bandwidth capacity between all of our data centers, and we've run a second 10Gbps network connection between our Houston and Dallas locations to further improve the network's redundancy. By uniting into one AS, our six data centers will be recognized as a single entity for Internet routing purposes. This consolidation enables us to leverage our network's size to provide you more bandwidth at a lower cost, it gives you (as a customer) the ability to seamlessly spread your infrastructure between all of our data centers in both cities, and it allows us to route bandwidth and traffic to you in a much more efficient manner.
One of the final steps in completing this AS consolidation requires a scheduled maintenance window for our H2 data center on Sunday, August 3, 2008, between 12:01am and 5:00am. The entire data center will be migrated to our new network hardware infrastructure during the maintenance window, so our team has designed the maintenance process to minimize the impact the network changes have on your servers in H2. Your IP addresses will not change, your server will not need to be powered down, and you will not need to update anything on your servers or racks following this maintenance.

I'd like to thank everyone who stopped by, I thinks it's the most I've played Team Fortress 2 since its beta release long ago.  We had a great time and the server was full (12vs12) most of the weekend. At times I found myself having to wait to get in! We've had a tough time getting this server off the ground due to all the competition. I'm hoping we've picked up a few regulars during this blow out weekend. We've tried 2fort or vote, popular map rotation or vote as well as trying our luck with sniper map rotation or vote, no such luck. I think in combination of being one of the first servers updated with the big update and running the new map Gold Rush 24/7 has put us on the map. The big test was today.. will the server fill once again now that the free weekend is over Well, if you guessed 'yes'.. You guessed correctly! Its Monday afternoon and I just came off a lil 7 on 7 action with some sweaty palms. In the time it took me to post this the server filled. Lets hope we can keep this up. Get in there and play, add all your friends and lets get pimping and make this happen C|L
